Forsyth
Library
The
library provides information and resources necessary to support
academic programs and research for students, faculty, and administration.
The building holds some 300,000 volumes in the general collection,
700,000 government publications, 300,000 microforms, and 2,500 current
periodicals and newspapers. Special collections include Ethnic Studies,
Kansas and Western History, the Donna Harsh Children’s Literature
Room, and the University Archives.
A variety
of services are available in the library: reference, circulation/reserve,
interlibrary loans, access to special collections, and government
documents. The staff offers individualized and group instruction
in the use of library materials including print, microforms, and
electronic resources. Computers throughout the library provide access
to information from local and remote sites including the Internet
and World Wide Web (WWW). Materials not present in Forsyth Library
may be requested through the Interlibrary Loan Department which
is supported by daily courier service from the other Regents libraries.
The Government Documents Department provides information and statistics
gathered from state, national, and international sources, including
the Internet and WWW.
